Alarko Group's Sustainability Leaders Meet at the Joint Impact Day

On Tuesday, 11 February 2025, the Alarko Joint Impact Day was held at the Holding's carbon-neutral campus in Ortaköy, where the Group companies shared their 2024 activities and future plans in line with Alarko Holding’s sustainability targets. The meeting chaired by Mr. Ümit Nuri Yıldız, CEO of Alarko Group of Companies, was attended by members of Alarko Holding Sustainability Committee, General Managers, and sustainability managers of Group companies.

PwC, Alarko's sustainability transformation consultant, also participated in the Joint Impact Day, where, after presentations on sustainability developments in Türkiye and around the world, all companies shared their major projects and short- and medium-term goals. Awards were presented to companies that have made a difference with their innovative and scalable sustainability projects at the end of a very productive meeting.

Ümit Nuri Yıldız, CEO of Alarko Group of Companies, highlighted Alarko's target to become carbon neutral by 2050 in his opening speech at the event. Yıldız, who emphasized that they are putting sustainability at the center of their transformation journey and that they are committed to transforming their existing operations while implementing all new investments in line with these criteria, continued his remarks as follows: “As a matter of fact, our Group has been moving forward with this understanding since day one. I find the second point of the Alarko Philosophy, written by our founders and posted in all our rooms, the vision to “Preserving nature and maintaining the social balance within the company in all activities" very valuable. Nowadays, it is important not only to act but also to communicate our actions, targets, and impact transparently. The ESG performance of companies has long been a determining factor in everything from shareholder value to access to finance and from the attraction of new talent to the preferences of customers. Today, production is being redefined. We all know that a green and inclusive economic model must become mainstream if we are to survive in the future. We need joint targets, collaboration, and to learn from each other to do this.  This is why we call this important meeting the “Joint Impact Day”. We set the bar high for sustainability as a long-standing group with a history of quality and excellence in our country's development. We will continue to inspire the business community and at the same time create added value for our common future with the successful practices of our companies that operate in different sectors.”
