Alarko Holding and Make-A-Wish Türkiye Make The Wishes of Children Come True!

Celebrating its 70^th anniversary in 2024, Alarko Holding will grant the wishes of 70 children through its partnership with Make-A-Wish Türkiye, which celebrates its 25^th anniversary this year and is a beacon of hope, fulfilling the dreams of children with critical illnesses.

Alarko Holding, celebrating its 70^th anniversary this year, continues to pioneer innovative investments in key sectors and works on social responsibility projects that benefit various segments of society. Recently, Alarko Holding has partnered with Make-A-Wish Türkiye to support 70 children in pursuing their dreams and wishes. This initiative marks the first step of the project in Alarko Holding's 70^th year, and it aims to bring hope to these children by making their unique dreams come true.

Founded in 2000 under the leadership of Carole Hakko and operating since 2009 as the Turkish affiliate of Make-A-Wish (MAW) International Foundation, Make-A-Wish Türkiye grants the wishes of children aged 3-18 who are battling with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Türkiye, which fulfills the dreams of hundreds of children each year, bringing them hope and helping them connect more deeply to life, celebrated its 25^th anniversary on November 22 at The Peninsula Istanbul. Alarko Holding was the main sponsor of the event supporting this meaningful project.

Burcu Esmersoy and Kaan Sekban hosted this special night, which sold out on the first day due to record demand, with the goal of increasing contributions to children's dreams. Nil Karaibrahimgil and Make-A-Wish Türkiye Ambassador Alina Boz also contributed to this meaningful night, where the auction raised additional funds for the children. 

The meeting began with speeches from Luciano Manzo, CEO of MAW International, and Eda Sevaioğlu Tan, Chairperson of the MAW Turkey Board of Directors. Niv Garih, Board Member of MAW International and Alarko Holding; Jonathan Crook, CEO of The Peninsula Istanbul; Romina Hakko Garih, who has successfully continued Carole Hakko's legacy; and Barış, who was once among children who had a wish and who is now a volunteer, all shared their messages. 

Niv Garih made a speech at the gala night: “In celebration of our 70^th anniversary, we are thrilled to be the fairy tale heroes for 70 children by making their wishes come true.”

Niv Garih, Board Member of Alarko Holding, highlighted that Make-A-Wish Türkiye has been fulfilling the dreams of thousands of children for 25 years. The organization nurtures the innocent wishes that arise in children's hearts, helping to heal, strengthen, and connect them to life. Garih stated, "At Alarko Holding, we have achieved many successes in our 70-year journey." However, we took the greatest pride in our projects that made a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Children, young people, and women have always been our priority in these projects. And it will continue to be so.  We believe the future will be better because we work with great motivation for the future we dream. We embrace the responsibility of being a longstanding company in the history of our Republic, which is celebrating its 101^st anniversary. In line with this philosophy, we collaborated with Make-a-Wish Türkiye, which has celebrated its 25th anniversary and has become a well-established organization for its supporters and the children it has helped. In celebration of our 70^th anniversary, we are thrilled to be the fairy tale heroes for 70 children by making their wishes come true.
