We are honored to be recognized in Fast Company magazine's "Türkiye's Sustainability Leaders-50" ranking, which highlights companies and leaders driving meaningful change in sustainability.
Under the leadership of our CEO, Ümit Nuri Yıldız, Alarko Group of Companies is committed to making a tangible impact on our country, society, and planet. We are pioneering sustainability across our sectors, from investments in renewable energy to water efficiency in agriculture, from circular economy initiatives to reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint.
Leveraging cutting-edge technology, our geothermal greenhouses are designed to promote sustainability and ensure access to healthy food. Our zero-pesticide produce, cultivated with minimal water consumption through hydroponic farming, is exported to 20 countries. Additionally, our newly inaugurated hybrid micro-granular fertilizer plant, the first of its kind in Türkiye and the largest in Europe, stands out for its environmentally friendly features.
At Alarko Carrier, our rooftop solar power plant at the Eskişehir facility generates 435,000 kWh of electricity annually. By utilizing Alarko-branded photovoltaic panels, we are making a significant contribution to climate change mitigation. Furthermore, our R&D efforts focus on developing low-carbon products that enhance resource and energy efficiency.
In the energy sector, we remain committed to promoting a clean and continuous energy supply, actively planning new investments to increase the share of renewables in our overall energy portfolio.
Hillside Beach Club, renowned for its sustainability-driven approach to tourism, continues to minimize water consumption and manage natural resources efficiently. We are conducting a comprehensive land and marine biodiversity inventory around our facility, which has received numerous accolades, while also prioritizing local products and suppliers and integrating cultural activities into the tourism experience.
At our Holding headquarters campus, we are offsetting our carbon footprint through I-REC Certification and wind-based Gold Carbon Credits. Our social responsibility initiatives extend to empowering women entrepreneurs and expanding educational scholarships, particularly in earthquake-affected regions. We are dedicated to enhancing our positive social impact through new projects that foster skilled employment and drive social and cultural development. As the first Holding company in Türkiye to publish a responsible communication policy, we pledge to uphold transparency and ensure that all our sustainability communications are based on measurable outcomes rather than superficial "greenwashing."
With our 2050 Net Zero target, we will continue to integrate sustainability principles into our investments and projects, striving to create lasting value for society and the world through an innovative and forward-thinking approach.
