We Are Interested In The Third Airport
The interest of companies in the tender for the 3rd airport planned to be built in Istanbul is increasing. Alarko Group CEO Ayhan Yavrucu announced that they had applied for pre-qualification for the tender. Yavrucu said, “We are probably the company that has built the most airports in Turkey. We are very much interested in the 3rd airport.”
Alarko Group CEO Ayhan yavrucu said that they were interested in the tender for the 3rd airport to be built in Istanbul and that they were likely to apply as a consortium. Yavrucu said, “We are probably the company that has built the largest number of airports in Turkey. We are very much interested in the 3rd airport,” and pointed out that they did not have definite plans regarding the financing of the tender of the privatization of the bridges and motorways for which they have made the pre-qualification application.
Yavrucu who participated in the introduction meeting of the “custom designed graduate program” realized by the collaboration of Alarko Group of Companies and Bahçeşehir University (BAU) said that in five years energy will jump ahead of contracting and will rank first in the total business volume of Alarko. The Group has taken the decision to redesign the first corporate training program in Turkey developed in 2011 and administered within its own body and conduct it in collaboration with BAU as of 2013.
Yavrucu expressed that they put a lot of emphasis on the collaboration of universities and industry and said, “Profit margins have decreased considerably in today’s world. We observe serious pressure on profit margins even in the most developed economies. The only way to overcome this problem is with well-trained knowledgeable and experienced people.”
Yavrucu also underlined that thanks to this collaboration company employees would benefit from the enlightenment of the university and that the educators would benefit from the experience of the industry. In the program designed especially for Alarko, employees will be trained in the areas of Financial Affairs, Marketing-Sales, Engineering and Support Units and will have the chance to get an MBA degree. 70 % of the program will be conducted by members of the university staff and 30% by the executives of the company.
Pointing out that education was the most important thing in professional business life, Enver Yücel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahçeşehir University, said, “The cooperation that we have accomplished with a holding company that has proven itself worldwide is an indicator of the university-industry collaboration that we have longed for years. Yücel also added that in addition to collaborating with Alarko on the MBA program, they hoped to conduct joint scientific studies.
